The festive season has come and gone, and now the new year for 2015 has started. To me, this signifies a year of success and a lot of hard work to go along with it, but plenty of fun times too! I already have my new year resolutions written in my (2014) notebook, and will be working on achieving all of them within the next 12 months! As far as fun times go, I have many surprises under my sleeves. For one, I will definitely be travelling this year to different countries within Europe and that's already very exciting for me since I did not manage to fly out of Malta last year. Most people know that I am quite the travel junkie, and the more I can experience, the happier I am as an individual. 2014 was quite a tough year in every sense of the word, however I like to tell myself that: "all is well in my world." (Louise L. Hay), and after all, it always is.

Thoughts about travelling have been on my mind a lot recently. I have experienced wanderlust for London and Paris, the cities of bright lights, for as long as I can remember, however a couple of countries have also popped into my mind so as to visit within the year of 2015! Right at the top of the list are Austria and Iceland for their beautiful landscapes. Then I would love to travel back to the UK to cold Scotland and wet Wales, down to the richness of Italy and up again to Amsterdam and across to Berlin. 2015 will be a year full of journeys and experiences and I cannot wait to share all of these with you! And the years after? Hopefully, I will be able to travel far and wide to the different continents of the world.
My post today is to express the gratitude I have for having had the chance to travel to one of the most romantic cities in the world : Paris. I had visited last year in November for my birthday and stayed in an apartment with my brother, Dima, at La Défense which is a major business district in Paris. I had stayed there for four full days, and managed to see a lot of the city thankfully. Even though my feet killed me at the end of every day, it was worth it! The Grande Arche, The Arc de Triomphe, Les Quatre Temps, The Louvre, The Eiffel Tower, The Sacred Heart Basilica of Montmartre (Sacre-Coeur), Montparnasse, Champs-Elysees, Moulin Rouge, The Opera, Les Galeries Lafayette and many more. All photographs were taken by myself.

The past couple of days have gotten quite chilly here in Malta, with temperatures reaching 12°C compared to our usual high 20s, along with many cool showers. A change in wardrobe is definitely a requisite at the time being! Keep in mind that the best way to keep warm on this small island in the winter months is by layering! That way if the sun comes out to say "Hi!" randomly, we can all just take a layer or two off to feel comfortable again.
I recently purchased a pair of camel waterproof boots with sheep-wool lining on the interior by KEDDO from Stivalletti. They are a perfect snuggly-fit and keep my toes toasty warm. So for today's Parisienne chic look I've paired my new favourite pair of shoes with Zara jeggings in charcoal grey, a sheer black blouse from New Look and an oxford blue tie with silver and purple polka dots by Christian Berg from my boyfriend's wardrobe (for that extra zest). Wallet from Carpisa and ring from Swarovski.

Birthdays are not about getting older, birthdays are all about celebrating another year that you have been healthy and alive, experiencing the world that much more and having the best company around you day in and day out. Some people may disagree saying that a particular year had not been so good for them, or that they have not had the best friends or perfect job, but that may happen at any moment to anyone. We all go through rough patches in life, we all learn how to deal with them and how to move on and be stronger than we ever were before. I may not have had a perfect year, but I have had a successful year and I have grown wiser with every experience I've gone through and I am more than grateful for everything life has thrown at me. Gratitude is the best attitude, and I am overflowing with it at the moment.
For all my birthdays I have had small gatherings and never celebrated much, this year I wanted to make an extra effort and to make sure everyone I know has just as much fun as I did. I decided on having a gathering at Club Level 22 at Portomaso Tower, it's more of a lounge rather than a club for the people that haven't been yet. It was a relaxing night full of socialising because it so happens that I have many friends from different walks of life, it was nice to see everyone talk and mingle altogether. Surprisingly enough, I also fell in love with my cake. Ordered from Maypole, I got a Red Velvet Schoolcake with buttercream in the middle and icing on top. I had a wonderful night to say the least and thank everyone for making it what it was, most importantly for Fred for giving me his unconditional love always being there for me and supporting me through thick and thin.
For all the style and fashion addicts on the blog, I had worn a Miss Selfridge velvet dress with a gold glitter triangular pattern. Shoes from Gauda, Jewellery from New Look and Swarovski. I got my hair done at Hair by...Roxanne in San Gwann and had help from my very own artistic hand for my make up.
Here are a few snaps from the night. Thanks to Kira Drury for the photography. Check out her photography here.

I have recently lost connection to the outer world from not having WIFI at home, the reason being that construction is being done within the house, so for this month or so, I will be posting and uploading much less on all social media networks unfortunately. On the bright side, there are a couple of cafes in the area that have free wifi, so I'm definitely sorted from time to time. I have also been quite sick so I couldn't do as much work as I would have liked with photography and acting as well as at Swarovski, but I'm slowly getting back on my feet and cannot wait to keep updating you on all my lovely travels, shoots and life events.
On today's post I have put up the best shots from the FUSHIA Autumn Collection modelled by Kyra Borg. They are specialising in party and eveningwear this time around, so definitely have a look at their Facebook page, along with their store on Bisazza Street in Sliema, if that is what you are looking for.
As a little side note, I have also purchased the round Attract Ring from Swarovski which is embellished with Swarovski crystals on the sides with a big zirconia stone in the middle. It is absolutely beautiful, if I may say so myself. I have tried taking a photo of it, but the photos don't do it any justice to show just how gorgeous this stone and these crystals are. They dazzle the eyes. So I will leave it up to the internet to do its best in showing that for you and that's it for tonight, I will be back with more updates so stay tuned and as always, much love.
