The Baystreet Shopping Complex in Malta has officially celebrated the opening of their Level 2, which includes a new store for Bortex, Cortefiel (fantastic addition as far as brands go, will be making a blog post on this soon!), J PICCININO LTD, Original Marines and Women'Secret. I had gone to visit Women'Secret a couple of weeks prior to the VIP event and had taken a couple of photography shots of the interiors, which really bring out the feminine side of women with its light pink and grey fashion accents. I figured that the bra sizes are quite small, so I probably won't be recommending this store for larger-breasted females, however when it comes to the style of pyjamas, little accessories and everything else, it is all very cute and something can be found for everyone! Keep an eye out for the specials in black and burgundy for Halloween and the upcoming wintery months, find more information at Women'Secret Malta.

Last night was the launch party of the new Oasis store in Sliema inspired by all things French: macarons, champagne and all. I was the official photographer for the night and loved watching what took place from behind the lens.

I met a couple of characters on the night. Brian Role is one of them, and he is a Maltese illusionist/magician who showed me some of his tricks. Thinking I was clever enough to figure out the magic behind them, I was wrong, I was flabbergasted and I promised him he would be at any big event I plan in the future to entertain all my guests. I also got chatting to Dominic who was part of the Tresemme' collaboration about Malta Fashion Week, the magnifique' Olaplex, and how to get the perfect curls when you have straight and thin hair just like mine. I got a whiff of the Nina by Nina Ricci Perfume and luckily came across Stephanie from Style In Transit and Mariel from Confessions of a Former Size 6, two friends and fashion bloggers in Malta. Ending it with a sweet surprise hello/goodbye from Victoria at Lifestylizeandgo.

I made a small purchase after I finished shooting the event and bought a pair of small rose gold hoop pierced earrings and a set of three minimal line-design pierced earrings in white, gold and black, which came along with a small goodiebag with a couple of different samples and treats. I would like to thank Aida Cassola for having me on the night and look forward to attending many more events that Oasis may have in the future, on behalf of the Little Ocean. The Launch of BadAss Wardrobe is finally here, and it is time to let the public know all about this brand new website!

Founded by my very good friend and Slovak stylist Pavli Medvedova, Badass Wardrobe was created to address the need on the market for eccentric and innovative designs aimed at clients with a strong, individual style.  badasswardrobe.com is a place where emerging designers bring their creations, be it clothing, jewellery, shoes or accessories to a platform to get closer to a wider audience internationally and luckily, I was able to collaborate with Pavli on this wonderful new project and have taken shots of models with the first two creative designers that jumped on the bandwagon : Julia Boikova and Ritienne Zammit.

Julia Boikova

The first time Julia Boikova jumped on the scene in Malta was when we saw her at the Mercedes-Benz Malta Fashion Week earlier this year. She showcased her collection Ropes and Dots, which was inspired by a rope that she brought back with her to London after travelling through India, you can read and see more about this event if you click here. She graduated in Fashion Design and Realization from the prestigious London College of Fashion and soon afterwards came to live in Malta to finally show her digital textile prints to the world. Ritienne Zammit

As for Ritienne Zammit, she is an upcoming yet well known name in the fashion circes of Malta and with her new creative collection AMEN A/W14 inspired by the Maltese National Anthem, she would not let us look away. I was not able to view her collection at Mercedes-Benz Malta Fashion Week this year because I had been in Rome at the time, however I had been there for her show the previous year, which can be seen here, and I got a very good idea of her skills and creativity in fashion design. When collaborating with Pavli and Domina Rizkova for the shoot of BadAss Wardrobe, I fell in love with her new designs and think they really incorporate the Maltese spirit through the graphics and words, while still making the most unique style that can be worn by the most fashion-forward females in the country, and internationally. You will not find any pieces like these anywhere else, by anyone else.
