Valentine's is not only a time of receiving, but also a time of giving, girls! We don't think any less of when our boyfriends/partners/husbands shower us with gifts on special occasions, and neither should they! If you are clueless as to what your bae may like this Valentine's day, then here's some help from me to you.
ACCESSORIES
Accessories are a great present for anyone and the easiest gift option. For men, these accessories include ties, belts, cufflinks and even a really nice watch. If he isn't flashy with his accessories then try not to get him objects with many crystals, something more understated would work much better. Men are not too fussy with colour as long as you don't buy him a bright pink scarf to wear on a regular basis. For jewellery, stainless steel is a very masculine metal, and it goes with most things. If you have a slightly hippier/hipsterish partner, leather is a nice material too.
BOOKS
If your man is a book enthusiast, then this would be the perfect gift. Is he into historical facts and figures from World War 2? There is plenty of choice at book stores like Agenda in Malta. If they don't have a particular book he would like, then you can order it pre-hand and have it ready for him for Valentine's Day. There are many genres of writing and it all depends on what your partner enjoys reading. Personalised books are also a great idea, and one in particular had stolen my heart a while ago : 'Chilli & Bubble's Book of Love For Him' which you can find here.
COLOGNE
If your man loves collecting scents, then there are many on the market to choose from. If he already has some it would be wise to have a whiff of his favourite ones and come to a conclusion of what type of scent it is. If it's heavy and musky, then try going for the same sort of cologne. If he likes lighter scents, then go for one of the same notes. At the moment Viktor&Rolf have a great cologne called SPICEBOMB and it is designed in the shape of a bomb, Burberry's scents are always interesting to try out, as well as Hugo Boss. here are a couple of my favourites for men.
FOR THE MUSICIANS
If you have a talented musician as a male partner, then picking out a well known brand of drumsticks (if he's a drummer), or a jar of guitar picks/guitar strap (if he's a guitarist) could be well received, especially if it is signed by his favourite music artist. If he's into music in general, then picking out a nice pair of headphones would be nice, as well as picking out a quirky hippie music colouring book for the laugh of it or a great new CD he's been dying for.
ALL THE REST
Some guys are stereotypically into 'manly' interests such as woodwork, in this case he might have his eye on a cool new drill from Black and Decker or DeWalt, I would ask him if he wants a particular one since it is easy to make a mistake with the requirements for these type of tools unless you are a very DIY person yourself who is experienced in picking out the best items for a specific job. Then there is the gamer guy which would love anything from a poster of his favourite game, to the limited edition version of a particular game and a gaming keyboard/mouse and the list goes on. For the sporty types, a brand new shirt of his favourite football team, a ticket to see his favourite team or to receive a signed football would make him ecstatic!
These are most of the gifts for men covered. There are options of going more mushy and DIY, like buying a frame and putting a photo of the two of you into it or writing him a love letter but I would leave those personal touches up to you. Remember your man is proud of who you are and does not expect anything, the most important thing is that you have each other and have a day to cheers to the love between the two of you ♡
